When you purchase a certified pre-owned Lamborghini, the car or SUV comes with a CPO warranty. These include the Aventador, Urus, and other models. This warranty covers almost all parts (except wear items), bumper-to-bumper. It also covers and extends the powertrain warranty and includes roadside assistance for additional peace of mind and security. It’s a good package that can help save you money in the long run. We go over the Lamborghini certified pre-owned warranty in detail so you can make an intelligent decision on whether or not a CPO Lamborghini is best for you.

What IS Included With The Lamborghini CPO Warranty

When you buy a Lamborghini with a CPO warranty, you want it to be worth your money. What makes it worth your money is that this warranty covers everything bumper-to-bumper (except normal wear items) and that it covers the powertrain. You get this with a Lamborghini CPO warranty and you get roadside assistance.

The Lamborghini CPO warranty covers all major components and assemblies, bumper-to-bumper. These include the steering and suspension systems, all safety equipment such as the ABS brake system and the airbags, the air conditioning and heating systems, the electrical components and systems, and the fuel system.

The powertrain coverage includes every part that works to provide power to the wheels. This includes the engine, the differential, the transmission (manual or automatic), and the axles and wheels.

The company provides roadside assistance with the package, also. This means you get peace of mind about flat tires, jump starts, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery. This service is available 24/7, 365 days a year.

What’s NOT Included with the Lamborghini CPO Warranty

When you buy a certified Lamborghini with a CPO warranty, certain things are not covered. Not covering some items is normal with nearly every CPO warranty that automakers offer. Parts the company does not cover are maintenance services, wear items, and damages.

The CPO warranty does not cover tires; these have their own warranty. It does not cover other wear items such as brake pads, the clutch, windshield wipers, and light bulbs. The warranty does not cover maintenance services like oil changes. While it covers the electronic systems, it does not cover the sound system or navigation system.

If a part or assembly goes bad because you, the owner, did not perform the required regular maintenance, the warranty does not cover the damage. It also does not cover any damage caused by misuse of the vehicle, such as riding over a curb or using the vehicle for towing.

The warranty also does not cover environmental damages. This includes hail damage, acid rain damage, and things like damage caused by tree sap.

The Good Things about the Lamborghini CPO Warranty

One of the best things about this warranty is that it exists at all. Selezione Lamborghini just started offering a CPO warranty in February 2019. You can choose to buy either the one-year coverage or the two-year coverage.

The CPO warranty covers virtually everything (except wear items), bumper-to-bumper. This means all systems like the electrical systems (computer, electronic door locks, and windows, etc.), the A/C and heater, and the steering and suspension. It covers the powertrain, which means the engine, the drive shaft, the transmission, wheels, differential, and items like gaskets, fluid, and seals. The warranty also includes roadside assistance for the duration of the warranty. This means you don’t have to worry about a battery going dead, flat tires, towing, running out of gas, or other potential on-the-road problems.

The Bad Things about the Lamborghini CPO Warranty

A potential drawback for buyers is that the company does not state a mileage limit for the warranty. Evidently, the company, Automobili Lamborghini s.p.a., extends the warranty based on time only, not mileage. This can be confusing for buyers since most CPO warranties are based on both. The window to obtain coverage is also a little narrow: The vehicle must have more than 31,000 miles on it but less than 72,000 miles. Anything less or more than these limits, and the CPO warranty is not available.

The warranty is void if you have the car or SUV repaired with parts other than Lamborghini. While this is normal for a CPO warranty, the fact is Lamborghini vehicles are not as common as some other makes, so it may be difficult to obtain the parts needed for repairs.

Takeaway Value

It’s a good thing that Lamborghini, which is now owned by Volkswagen, offers a CPO warranty on its Lamborghini cars and SUV, the Urus. Prior to February 2019, this was not the case. The CPO warranty covers all parts and systems on these vehicles, bumper-to-bumper, with the exception of wear items and damages caused by misuse or by environmental events like hail storms. The vehicle must pass a 150-point inspection. The buyer can choose between one- or two-year plans, which provides an option time-wise.

Roadside assistance is included for the entire warranty period. However, the warranty does not have a mileage specification and with a narrow time window to obtain CPO coverage, this can be a downside.

FAQs

Q: Is the CPO warranty transferable?

Yes. You can transfer the CPO warranty to a new owner one time. There is no charge to do this.

Q: How much does a Lamborghini CPO warranty cost?

It depends on a number of factors. Primary among them is which plan the buyer chooses—either the one-year or two-year plan. The cost also depends on the Lamborghini model to be warranted, how many miles are on it, and what price the individual Lamborghini dealership offers for the CPO warranty.

Q: How does Lamborghini certify their vehicles?

The vehicle must pass a 150-point inspection. The company obtains a vehicle history report for the vehicle, which shows any accidents and the maintenance done on the vehicle. The company also performs diagnostic and road tests on the car or SUV.
