I’d Scramble This Hard To Get Out of Max Verstappen’s Way, Too

The RB7 F1 car has about 750 HP. It's, uh, a bit quicker than a Focus ST.

This picture is from a Red Bull-sponsored exhibition (“Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen take on the Best of British including a Spitfire!”) and yes, the UK-spec Focus ST is up on two wheels on purpose. But it’s funnier to think of it as a terrified driver hustling so hard to the outside of a turn that their car almost flips over.

  • Location: Goodwood (West Sussex, England)
  • Photog: Lou Johnson (Red Bull Content Pool)
  • Camera: Nikon D850

There’s a whole photo album and an accompanying pointless, but cute, video in which racing legend Verstappen zooms around while a whole field of what you might call quintessentially “British” vehicles. The RB7 actually has its own profile page on Red Bull’s website if you want to see more of it. Or you could just peep the video here:

I have to admit, I’m a lot more into corny stunts like this than actual F1 racing. But if you appreciate seeing this car in its real element, maybe it’s even funnier to watch it blow the doors off of a double-decker bus and a few hatchbacks. Enjoy. And happy Friday!
