So, you’re looking at buying your own Ferrari but want to protect it with an extended warranty. For a high-end premium sports car, a warranty goes a long way in providing coverage and protection for your vehicle, especially a prancing pony. As for Ferrari’s extended warranty, you’re looking at what the company calls its Ferrari New Power 15 plan. It extends the coverage on the Ferrari for an additional 12 years on top of the three-year-long factory warranty. This gets you a total of 15 years of coverage; that is tough to find among competitors.

What Is Covered in the Ferrari Extended Warranty

The Italian sports car maker was among the first dealers to offer extended warranty coverage as long as 15 years. It’s not a plan you’d find offered by Jaguar or BMW, and it’s a great addition to have for your Ferrari. The New Power15 also will never run out due to mileage, as its 15-year coverage is coupled with an unlimited mile warranty as well. To learn more about what exactly you’re getting, we’ve put together a detailed account of what the warranty covers and if it’s worth the added expense. All Ferraris are eligible for the extended warranty plan as long as they are still within the three year/unlimited mileage factory warranty.

  • Bumper-to-Bumper Coverage

When it comes to protecting everything from the front bumper to the rear bumper of your Ferrari, the New Power15 warranty plan stands out. The extended warranty covers the car for an unlimited amount of miles and lasts up to a total of 15 years. The bumper-to-bumper coverage will protect a number of components and parts if they ever breakdown due to mechanical issues.

If your Ferrari does begin to show signs of malfunctioning because of a mechanical defect or failing part, it is covered by the extended warranty New Power15 plan. This means any parts or components that aren’t working will be covered by Ferrari. You have the easy part of just driving the vehicle to a certified dealership for service—that is, if you can get it there. Even if you are unable to drive it, the warranty will help you deliver it without an issue, but we’ll discuss that a little later.

  • Powertrain Coverage

The New Power15 also offers powertrain coverage that also lasts 15 years or an unlimited amount of miles, whichever you burn through first. Ferrari’s extended New Power15 plan is extensive and certainly comprehensive when it comes to protecting the Ferrari’s engine, mechanical components, gearbox, PTU, suspension, and steering. These are all extremely important factors of any car, but with Ferrari being a premium sports car, their engine, transmission, and drivetrain are what makes them so special.

We’re sure you’ll do more than just tour the country with your Ferrari, and thanks to the unlimited mileage coverage, you never have to worry about racking up the miles. It will ensure everything functions properly. The company knows everything under the Ferrari’s hood is vital to its performance.

  • Additional Coverage

As another benefit to both your and the Ferrari, the New Power15 extended warranty comes with complimentary scheduled service. As long as the parts and components fail due to mechanical issues or faults in any previous repairs, you can get spare parts, engine oil, and brake fluid at no extra cost. The one stipulation is you are required to bring the car to a Ferrari dealer.

As another boon to you, the coverage extends the 24-hour roadside assistance that comes with the limited warranty. If you experience any failure in lighting, dead batteries, flat or low tires, require more fuel, or get locked out, you can call or use the Ferrari roadside assistance app, and a tow truck will be sent to your location free of charge. If for any reason the issue is unable to be fixed on site, the tow truck driver will deliver the car to the nearest Ferrari dealership (within 100 miles).

What’s NOT Covered in the Ferrari Extended Warranty

Although Ferrari’s New Power15 extended warranty provides excellent coverage, it does have a few not so great features. It is an all-encompassing and broad plan, but if you get a dent or scratch on the vehicle, you are out of luck, as the warranty won’t cover it. There are also limitations on the coverage.

  • Damage and Limitations

The extended warranty offers plenty of protection for parts, but it doesn’t offer anything for cosmetic damage. While it is rare to have this as an option on most vehicles, having it on a Ferrari would be highly beneficial. As a new owner, you always want to make sure your vehicle looks great.

As for limitations on the extended warranty, you will have to keep up to date with the renewal process. In order to extend the coverage year after year to a total of 15 years, you will have to renew it every 12 months.

The Advantages of the Ferrari Extended Warranty

As the first manufacturer in the world to offer drivers the option of extending the warranty up to 15 years of coverage, Ferrari’s New Power15 extended warranty is excellent. It covers all of the basic options you’d find from a luxury manufacturer and then some. Perhaps the best feature of the coverage is its lengthy amount of time and mileage.

Ferrari’s 15-year timeframe for powertrain, bumper-to-bumper, and roadside assistance is an excellent service. But coupling it with the company’s unlimited mileage plan creates an extended warranty that is difficult to beat. Not to mention, if you ever feel the need to sell your Ferrari for whatever reason, the entire warranty is transferable to new owners.

You even have peace of mind knowing your Ferrari is covered by 24-hour roadside assistance as well. If you find yourself stranded on the side of the road, you can easily contact the company, and it will send out a tow truck at no extra cost.

Disadvantages of the Ferrari Extended Warranty

You are out of luck in only a few areas when it comes to the New Power15 extended warranty from Ferrari. If you find yourself living far away from a certified Ferrari dealership and require service, you will have to bring it to the dealership or risk voiding the warranty. This can also come into play if the Ferrari breaks down 100 miles outside of a certified service center.

You will also have to renew the extended warranty every year in order to keep it. This isn’t too big of a deal, and you can even sign up for auto renewal if you are able to. Also, if any service was performed outside of a certified dealership, the warranty may not be able to be renewed or started at all.

Takeaway Value

The Ferrari New Power15 extended warranty is definitely worth your time and effort. If you want to ensure your Ferrari is taken care of and will last you several years, then opting for the plan is a good idea. The extended warranty offered by Ferrari is just about as good as it gets when it comes to protecting your car, and it is worth the investment.

FAQs

Q: How long is the Ferrari extended warranty?

You can get an extended warranty that covers your Ferrari for up to 15 years. At the end of the factory warranty (three years/unlimited miles), with at least 30 days remaining, you can get the New Power15 plan.

Q: Is a Ferrari extended warranty transferable?

You can transfer the warranty to another owner if you end up selling the Ferrari before the warranty expires.

Q: Can I take my Ferrari to any dealer for service?

You can take a Ferrari to a local garage, but the warranty won’t be honored. The warranty specifically states that the vehicle must be serviced by an authorized Ferrari dealer for warrantable repairs. If you take it to any unauthorized facility to replace or repair parts, you will end up paying out of pocket.
